PORTRAITS

Drawing, lithography, ceramics and paper marbling are approached here in ways which differ from their common uses. Drawing is used to explore the links between these different processes. For example a ceramic object, which was made by the maker’s hands, is then rendered through the process of drawing. This illustrates the, at times, complex nature of the drawing’s origins - the delicate rendering by hand of another handmade process. Many of the drawings in this body of work are derived from images from books for "beginner" potters.
