Quill Making
with Crisis Members
We learnt how to cut feathers into quills. The tip of the quill is made into a point with a central line cut into it so ink can be drawn up into the feather. We considered the etchings of Giorgio Morandi because of their use of line. Our ink drawings made from the quills illustrate the different qualities of line that can be achieved; scratches, blobs, splats, fine, bold, neat, messy. You name it.
