Collagraph

with Ashmolean Creatives Youth Group

Collagraph is an intaglio printing process in which the maker creates a textured surface which can then be inked and printed. Images can be made through cutting the top surface off mount board or adding different textures to the printing plate with textiles, tapes, foils and glues. The resulting prints are sensitive, tonal and detailed.

The celebrate the new acquisition of William Dobson's Civil War group portrait the Ashmolean Creatives explored the different textures in the painting to inspire their collagraphs.
