Dry Point Etching
with Crisis Members
This week we explored dry point etching while considering a wider theme of "A Beautiful Mess". After hearing about the history of dry point etching and seeing images of Louise Bourgeois's large etchings we got to work! We made strings of clay by pushing it through a tool called an extruding gun. From these fine strings of clay we etched our imaged onto our plates. The plates where then inked and rolled through the printing press. We would definitely like to do more etching!
